Leesa (Ward) Wallace '79
I visited the [district] website and found that several
teachers [I knew] are still at DCE! Karen Haines and Paul Aleckson, in
particular, had quite a profound impact on me, so I was thrilled to see them
listed in the faculty directory.
I still find it amazing that I graduated 29 years ago! I went
to UW-Eau Claire and got my teaching degree in English, worked for the
Japanese Ministry of Education for two years, and came back to the states to
get my Masters in Education and Business.
I wouldn't have done any of these things had it not been for
the support and encouragement I got at DCE.
Currently, I'm the 2nd Vice President of Leadership and
Organization Development at the Travelers, based in Hartford, CT. I have three
daughters--one college bound in the fall. Thanks again for reaching out. I
look forward to reconnecting with old friends and teachers, Leesa (Ward)
