After we were done sharing with the class, we learned about powwows. The teacher told us about a couple of different powwows, she taught us the difference between a traditional powwow and a contest powwow. A traditional powwow is a powwow when they dress up in traditional clothing and do special dances. A contest powwow is a powwow when they do special dances, but at the same time they are competing for money and prizes.
Overall, this was a great experience. I was very nervous going in, but once I met everyone I was okay because they were very nice and welcoming. I learned a lot and I’d do it again if I could.
