Looking Back, Stepping Forward: The Hmong People revolves around the new Hmong refugees from the Wat Tham Krabok camp in Thailand. In this book, it was not just adults that were important, but also kids. They talked about their lives and experiences. At the reception, there were Hmong tools and instruments on display. Some students wore their traditional clothing as well. As this was an exciting image to see, a group of girls danced for the audience. While watching the dance, you got to enjoy food such as eggrolls, fruits, pizza, spicy sausages, spring rolls, and sesame balls. In the end, the audience left with a knowledge of a different culture.
