When we arrived there, I just saw some houses with addresses that looked weird to me. I thought the addresses were weird and unique because that had letters in them. An address of a house might be something like N655 then the street name. The houses were also very unique to me because when we arrived some houses were really pretty, but then right next to a pretty house might be an old-looking, broken-down house. The houses seemed unique to me, but I also thought that the environment was really beautiful, too. There were a lot of green, beautiful trees that surrounded a lot of the area. The Menominee peoples’ lakes, streams, and rivers were so peaceful for me to hear, and they looked really clean, too. We got a chance to go take a tour around the area and eve stopped at one of their sacred areas. Their area had a story on it and the people even come to have parties or celebrations there once-in-a-while.

In the first class that I was in during the lesson that was being taught to the kids, I sometimes go confused because they used some words in a Menominee language that I did not understand. I thought it was also cool how the students got to make their own La Cross sticks and how we were sometimes involved in this lesson, too. In one of the classes that I was in, I felt a little weird and awkward because we just came in and we weren’t really involved at times.

Later, after the recess break, we went to go do the interviews. I got a teacher, whom I had a chance to interview; She seemed really nice and kind. I think that when we were interviewing the teacher, sometimes she got quiet, but at other ties, she was louder. I also thought that sometimes the lady spoke n a different way, which seemed awesome. She was also kind and patient for us when we were trying to find out what to ask her. Sometimes she didn’t speak much, but at other times, I think that she got lot f good details. I also thought that it was unique how her views and perspectives of things could be so different from another persons. I think that at some points she has really strong beliefs like: how we should help preserve our forest, how we should protect it, and that sometimes oral history is just as important as the history you learn form textbooks, I liked to listen to her stories of what she learned hen she was a young child and how her grandpa thought her lessons an morals by using stories and fables. At the end of the interview, the lady seemed really happy that she go interviewed and got to express some of her feelings or opinions, I got to ask at least three questions, so that made me happy enough.
